There's an amusing new Public Service Announcement out: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2008/10/29/star-stuffed-psa-get-five_n_138913.html Note the effective use of reverse psychology.
I also wanted to ask, now that we're all on Facebook on top of this (semi-regularly updated) blog, do we feel as though technology has "brought us closer together?" It's cliched enough to be difficult to say, but hard to dispute.
Not that I've seen any pictures of Amy's new haircut, though, so really what's the benefit?

Any means of communication that people use on a regular basis can of course bring them closer together. Facebook seems to be the quickest, most effective means of touching base regularly even though it's limited in terms of depth.
Here's what I learned from my conference in Tahoe this year. In order to stick a conversation must pass from the general topic-specifice level, i.e. a presentation topic, to a personal level, kids, husband, home, to a deeper philosophical level, truth, justice, and the "American way," defined in a personal way.
One of my problems sinking deeply enough into conference related relationships is that I tend to stay at the first, superficial level. Talk, then rush to the next session or out for a walk to chill.
This session in Tahoe I did a little better, and I feel pschologically filled to the brim.
This insight is more useful, I suppose if it's learned a bit earlier in life.
Remember Christ spend half of his time alone and half communicating with others.
