Before you had kids, did you make vegetable side dishes to go with dinner? I made a risotto last night for Irene (a labor of love, let me tell you) and the thought of making a side of green beans or broccoli, or whatever, occurred to me. But I rarely bother with such things when it's just Irene and me.
Yet, I recall vegetable sides regularly growing up. Did you two always used to make them, or is it only an obligation once you have children?

It has bee quite some time since we were childless, and I can't really remember if we ate at all, but assume we did pretty well in that department. As for now, in a similar to childless state, we pretty much rely on the birdseye microwave pouches, sauceless and just about right for two old fogies.
I love vegetable, raw and cooked, especially broccoli. Yum, yum. I remember during the Watergate Hearings, I ate only broccoli with vinegar. Tasty! You always like broccoli - do you remember the broccoli airplanes that nosedived into your mouth at dinner? I never could really sell Amy on broccoli airplanes, but since you are both now vegetarians, some of that love of veggies must have penetrated.
